SUMMARY:Seacoast Mobile Market: Somersworth Housing
DESCRIPTION:SAMM\, the Seacoast Area Mobile Market\, is the first mobile market program of its kind in New Hampshire\, and is the newest program in a larger Mobile Market consortium that spans New England and is generously funded by the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation’s Healthy Food Fund. \nThe goal of SAMM is to provide access to local foods in communities within the service region that may lack farmers’ markets of their own\, have high concentrations of low-income or at-risk residents\, are designated as being at higher risk for food insecurity\, or have a reportedly high number of residents with lack of access to consistent means of transportation. In addition to these community stops\, SAMM will also service a small number of employers in the region as an employee benefit. \nAligning with Seacoast Eat Local’s goal to provide greater access to local foods in all of their Seacoast communities\, SAMM is also aimed at spreading and increasing the number of sustainable agricultural businesses in these areas. By sourcing product as locally to market stops as possible\, they hope to incentivize and support small scale agricultural businesses in their growth. \nSeacoast Area Mobile Market Full Schedule \nVisit Seacoast Eat Local for more info

The event will run from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The message of the Recovery Rally is one of hope – to let people know there is hope\, to bring together people who have been affected by addiction and to celebrate recovery. The day will feature inspirational speakers\, music and a variety of other family friendly activities\, The Rally will also feature many exhibitors so that people can learn more about the numerous prevention\, treatment and recovery support programs in our community. \nEveryone knows far too well the incredibly difficult and painful impact that the addiction crisis is having on families in our community. However\, with the help of people like you\, we at SOS Recovery Community Organization will be able to continue to deliver a safe space and the peer-based addiction recovery supports that people in our community need to help find and live meaningful and purposeful lives in recovery. \nLast year more than 750 people attended our Rally and with the help of people and businesses like you\, This year promises to be bigger and we look forward to having you join us. SUMMARY:Film Screening: The Kids We Lose
DESCRIPTION:Weaving together moving interviews and rare archival footage\, The Kids We Lose portrays\, for the first time on film\, the journey of kids with social\, emotional\, and behavioral challenges\, their caregivers\, and their collective struggles at various ages. The kids don’t understand why they’re being mistreated and manhandled or why they’re unable to change course…they just think it’s their fault. Their desperate and discouraged parents hope there’s a better way\, but have been on the long road of looking for right help for way too long. Classroom teachers feel ill equipped to help these kids\, and have time constraints\, high-stakes tests\, overcrowded classrooms\, budget cuts\, and zero tolerance policies interfering with their efforts to retain their patience and compassion under impossible conditions. The entire picture is one of alienation\, disenfranchisement\, marginalization\, and despair. \nRochester\, New Hampshire\nSponsored by NH School Counseling Association\nSpaulding High School Auditorium\n130 Wakefield Street\nFree Screening at 6:00 PM\nNo registration required \n  \nLearn more about the film here:\nhttp://www.thekidswelose.com/
